LSP Recruit is an executive search firm specializing in finance roles across Canada. Our partners have over 25 years of recruiting experience focused on buy side placements and have completed over 300 successful searches. Our searches range from the Analyst level up to senior executives and Board positions.

Our Approach

LSP gains a comprehensive understanding of it’s clients’ organization, the target role and corporate culture prior to approaching potential candidates. We advise clients on target candidate profiles prior to commencing the screening process to maximize the potential candidate pool. Information flow with clients and candidates is consistent throughout each phase of the recruitment process to ensure the process is smooth, efficient and successful.

In LSP’s comprehensive screening process, we identify and contact up to several hundred candidates to ensure an appropriate talent pool for each opening. Candidates are typically sourced through LSP’s extensive network in combination with a robust research and outreach process rather than impersonal job postings. Our partners personally interview every candidate with a method that enables us to provide unique insight into the strengths, weaknesses and aspirations of each candidate. LSP’s personal approach establishes trust with all parties, thereby delivering highly qualified, successful candidates that can mesh with the organization and rapidly be a productive part of the client’s team.

Ling Shih

Founder & Partner

Ling Shih, LSP’s founding partner, grew up in Kingston, Ontario. She began her career in accounting at PwC, before quickly realizing that her affinity for solving people problems trumped her desire to become an auditor. Prior to founding LSP, Ling worked at leading Bay Street recruitment firms where she spent over a decade developing her abilities.

Ling has over fifteen years of experience focused on recruiting within financial services. This has given her deep insight into the industry and a strong network. She has built a reputation on Bay Street for her candour, integrity, and friendliness. Her passion for connecting the right people has driven her success.

Clients lean on Ling for market insights and as a trusted advisor on recruitment strategy. She has partnered with some of the most recognized companies and investment funds in Canada, helping build many of their teams from the bottom up.

Ling graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Economics degree.

Rob Shih

Founder & Partner

Rob Shih, Ling’s other half, started his career at PwC before joining a private equity firm and then equity research at OMERS Capital Markets. He spent years working behind the scenes to help Ling with recruiting.

Rob shifted his focus to LSP in 2022 and now plays a more active role across searches — combining strong market research with first-hand engagement of candidates. He draws on his finance experience to understand client needs and assess talent, while also building trusted relationships with candidates through thoughtful, well-informed conversations.

Rob graduated from Queen’s University with a Bachelor of Commerce degree and holds the CPA designation.

Understanding the Client and Role
Tailoring a high quality search process and ensuring the right fit requires understanding all aspects of the role, including company history, strategy, team, culture and day-to-day responsibilities.


Developing a Strategy

Getting to Work
